While this offering has been a staple, customer feedback inspired us to innovate further and introduce an adjustable shock option. Our goal was to create a premier package tailored to the exacting standards of a race car, all without the need for welding new mounts. The result? A first-class solution that meets our stringent criteria without compromising on quality.
Setting our product apart from the competition is our deliberate choice to incorporate a spherical bearing setup in all mounting locations, excluding the bottom of the rear shock "Fork" mount. This strategic decision was fueled by the unparalleled precision and smooth operation that spherical bearings offer. Unlike alternatives such as rubber mounts, which induce a problematic "Trampoline" effect, spherical bearings provide a consistent and interference-free shock function. Rubber mounts not only necessitate overcoming a trampoline effect before the shock can work but also introduce momentary changes in spring rate until fully compressed. Moreover, rubber mounts cause damaging side loads in the shock rod, ultimately leading to shaft damage.
In the pursuit of perfection, we explored alternatives like plastic or Delrin to eliminate the "rubber/trampoline" effect. However, we acknowledged that these materials introduce new challenges, notably friction, which interferes with shock operation. The forces at play in a Delrin/plastic mounting system result in "Hysteresis" losses, disrupting the seamless functioning of your shocks.
One standout feature of our adjustable shocks is the inclusion of a remote for the rear shock adjuster. This innovative design eliminates the need for additional drilling, as the cable easily threads through a slight gap at the upper shock mount in the rear.
